ISC Challenge #21

The challenge this week over at http://www.innovativestampcreations.com/ was to use a Tim Holtz Fragment on your card. My card also uses the glimmering silk technique from the latest issue of Technique Junkies. I couldn't be more pleased about how this card turned out. I stamped the Fragment with the word "friendship" from the Majestic Women VI plate and stamped the background with the pear collage from Summer Elements II.

ISC challenge #18

This week's challenge at http://www.innovativestampcreations.com/ischomepage.html was to make something using crackle paint or the cracked glass technique. Since I don't have any crackle paint, I made a card with the cracked glass technique featuring stamps from the Summer Elements III sheet. I really love how it turned out.

ISC challenge #17

This week's challenge at ISC http://innovativestampcreations.com/ was to make a book with the Bind it All machine and decorate it with grungeboard. I have been recently trying to catch up with photo printing--no, I'm not going to tell how far behind I am--so I decided to make a book to track my photos.

Shown here is the front and back of the book. I used the summer elements III sheet and Silhouettes I. The stars and arrow are grungeboard which I embossed with embossing powder.

This week the challenge at Innovative Stamp creations, http://innovativestampcreations.com/ , was to make a tag using only ISC stamps and a technique by Tim Holtz, http://www.timholtz.typepad.com/. I used the ISC summer elements sheet and the techniques that Tim used in his 12 tags of Christmas, day 7. This is how it all turned out.

Make it Monday and a Girl Scout Camping Trip

Hi all. I blogged about the cub scout camping trip, I should talk about the girl scout camping trip I went on last weekend. We stayed in a lodge at the girl scout camp and the lodge was very nice. It had electricity and a kitchen so we could cook indoors. Best of all we had light at night. I don't like being in the dark . But since the camp has to be cleaned spic and span before we check out, it is a lot of work.

On to Make it Mondays. Lisa Vollrath's challenge this week was to use windows or doors. I made this ATC for the challenge.

ISCC13-Make ATCs featuring resist techniques

This week's ISC challenge http://www.innovativestampcreations.com/ischomepage.html was to make 2-4 ATCs using at least 2 different resist techniques. For my first technique I used Krylon metallic pens as a resist. I doodled over the ATC with the metallic ink, then sprayed over them with color wash sprays. The ink resists the water color.

For my 2nd resist technique I used embossing powder for the resist. I painted the ATC with acrylic paint then stamped a background image with embossing ink and embossed with clear powder. Then I added a lighter color of paint over the image. Once it was dry, I ironed off the embossing powder, allowing the first color of paint to show through. Some of the sheets that I used for this project are Elegant Artsy Swirls, Nature Silhouettes I, Majestic Women VI and Summer Elements III.

Make it Mondays after a weekend campout

Here I am again with a post for Make it Mondays. The theme is orange and I made a little necklace book from Lisa's Monthly Muse September newsletter. My daughter saw me reading the instructions for these little treasures and wanted me to make one for here. I agreed, but said I had to rest up first after a family camp out with the cub scouts which my son has just joined. There was a lot of work for an overnight stay! But I did get her little book made and here it is.

Make it Mondays

This is my first time to participate in Lisa Volrath's Make it Mondays challenge. Every Monday she posts a theme and you can make anything with that theme--ATC, card, whatever you want. I made an ATC here for the Alice in Wonderland theme. The themes never expire so you can join in at any time.

ISCC10-Make a mini book

The ISC challenge this week is to make a mini book using only ISC stamps. I was inspired by Kathy Tucker's use of her book to record stamping inspirations, so I decided to do the same thing. I made my book from a purchased 2 ring binder that holds 3X5 note cards. I traced the cover onto cardstock, cut it out, and then stamped with ISC's new flower sheet. I used sticker letters for the writing. I also used a quote I like from another ISC sheet "Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication." Inside the book, I decorated 2 of the note cards because I thought I would use this book for blogs that I like to visit and cards from magazines that I would like to use as a idea starter.

A Decision has been made

Well, a decision has been made in the Altered Pages Design team contest and I was not selected. Trisha Neal and Nancy Peterson were the winners. Congratulations to them. I'm sure they will design some beautiful kits for Altered Pages.

In other news, my husband and I went to the Muny again, this time to see Fiddler on the Roof. I love Fiddler--I know all the music and always enjoy the show. We had a good time. This was the last show of the season, so we'll have to wait until next year to go back.

And for your viewing pleasure, an ATC I made for a swap. The theme was puzzle piece. I coated my puzzle pieces with black UTEE in the melting pot and added some pearl ex for color. The woman is from Altered Pages.

Altered Pages Design Team Week 4

This is the 4th and final week of the Altered Pages Design team challenge. This week we were to create a possible Kit of the Month. I chose to do Marble Magnets. This is a project inspired by the book Collage Lost and Found: Creating Unique Projects With Vintage Ephemera (Paperback)by Giuseppina Cirincione. Basically, you make tiny little collages that fit under flat backed marbles and glue a magnet on the back. These were fun and rather challenging to do since the canvas is so small. I only wish my photos had turned out better.

Week 3 of Altered Pages Challenge

For week 3 the challenge was to make a card, a tag and a layout. I love fairies, so my card has fairies, my tag has a lovely lady and my layout shows two of my children at the old schoolhouse at Silver Dollar City. Silver Dollar City is one of our favorite places to visit.

My daughter's first concert and ISC Challenge #8

Last night I took my daughter, Kyra, and a couple of her friends to the Jonas Bros concert. It was at an outdoor ampitheater here in St. Louis and we had lawn seats along with thousands of other people. My daughter and her friends had a good time, so that makes it all worth while.

In addition to galivanting around to concerts (my husband and I also went to the Muny and saw Miss Saigon on Monday night--a great show) once again I am participating in the ISC stamping challenge. The exciting news is that I was the winner for Challenge #7! See MOO cards below. That means I get a free stamp sheet! For Challenge #8 you had to make a card using one of the techniques Tim Holtz uses on his blog. I did the faux bleaching technique using ISC stamps.

ISC challenge #7

Okay, I can't quite believe I'm here in blogland. When I first heard about blogs my reaction was "why would anyone want to do this and why would anyone else care?". Oh well, things change. It's my desire to participate in Innovative Stamp Creations weekly challenges that has finally pushed me over the cliff...I mean edge. If you haven't checked out their stamps, please do so. The title really does say it all, they have a lot of interesting and original designs. This is my first attempt at Moo cards.
