Halloween Tag Swap

This is one of the tags I created for a Halloween tag swap.  I love making Halloween art-it's so much fun.  The background is stamped with a raven stamp (Tim Holtz) and swiped with Distress Stains.  I cut the clock out of cloth and attached it with fusible webbing.  The witch is a collage image.  I'm entering this into Simon Says Stamps Monday Challenge, to use stamps or stencils.

Letter N

I'm participating in an on going ATC swap using the alphabet.  We recently got to the Letter N, which I really struggled with for some reason  I finally decided to do "night" and really was happy with the results. I created the background by applying stencil paste through a star stencil.  Then I inked it up with distress inks in shades of blue and purple.  The image is stamped onto a transparancy and attached with brads.

Free Book! (Through 9/23)

I love paper crafting and I love to read.  That's why I think this is a great offer from Lain Ehmann, producer of the True Scrap events.  Here is what she has to say about the book:

Looking for inspiration from professional scrapbookers? Wondering
what the "pros" do when they hit a creative block? Want to know
more about some of your favorite designers? This volume has it all!
With short, informational profiles from nine of your favorite
scrapbooking instructors and designers, "Profiles in Scrapbooking"
will give you ideas for busting through your own scrapper's block,
for simplifying your creative process, and for falling in love with
memory-keeping and scrapbooking all over again. Perfect for newer
and more experienced scrapbookers, "Profiles in Scrapbooking" is a
jolt of creative caffeine for crafty souls.

Included in the book is a coupon code (good for a limited time) for a discount on True Scrap 6, coming up on October 18, 2014.  The book is available here.

If you decide to attend True Scrap (sure to be a lot of fun), after grabbing the book, I would appreciate you buying through my affiliate link here.
I have attended all the True Scrap Events and have enjoyed them all.  I never fail to learn something new and Lain is a high energy host sure to inspire and entertain you.

Embossed stencils

Another card inspired by Online Card Classes.  This card's background was created by tapping Versamark ink through a stencil and then embossing with embossing powder.  It's topped with an image from Gecko Galz.

Layered Stenciling

I'm taking a class on Stencils at Online Card Classes.  One of the techniques they demonstrated was layering different colors of ink through stencils.  Here is my take, a card for a baby shower I'm attending soon.

I inked through the circle stencil with Worn Lipstick distress ink, shifted the stencil, and inked with Picked Raspberry distress ink.  Stamps are Impression Obsession.

Something Blue (and white)

This week's Simon Says Stamp's Monday Challenge has a theme of blue. I made this gothic arch for a swap, but am also entering it in the challenge.

We were provided with a template for the swap, so I cut it out and traced it onto chipboard.  I cut out the chipboard and then covered it with book paper.  I used a couple of Tim Holtz's layering stencils and Dylusions sprays to creat the background.  Once this was dry, I sponged them with distress ink.  I then added a tissue paper frame and an image from Gecko Galz.  Finished touches were the flower brad, the square flower image, a rub on and a lace border.
